The tuition fees for this Master programme are 2.500,- EUR per semester plus an administrative fee of 75,30 EUR per semester (subject to change). As the second year is spent in industry, quite often, the tuition fees for the third and fourth semester are covered through an industry grant. 

It is important to know that you need to pay the fees for each semester before the beginning of the semester:

• for the winter semester: between June 25 - July 6
• for the summer semester: between January 15 - January 26

Unless payment is received by the beginning of a new semester, the student will be excluded from the programme. Please also note that after enrolment, tuition fees are not refundable by the university under any circumstances.

After arrival, each student is required to take out a compulsory health insurance from a German insurance company for the entire time of his/her studies in Hof. This compulsory German health insurance will cost you about 70 EUR per month, and the money will be deducted monthly from your German bank account. 

Living expenses in Hof are very modest compared to other German cities and it is possible to have room and board for around 600-700 EUR per month. Except for students from member states of the European Union, the framework for employment for international students is very limited.  Labour law regulations concerning international students are extremely strict. Part time jobs are very hard to find and you definitely cannot count on earning enough to support yourself.

Thus we strongly advise you to make a realistic assessment of your financial means before coming to Hof. Otherwise you run the risk of not being able to finish your studies.
